Do You Think It’s Wrong

Be honest.

Do you think it’s wrong?

That I’m giving The Photography One a macro lens for his birthday…

macro self portrait

And I had to try it out myself before I gave it to him…

(I call this one Self Portrait in Subaru  )

I know. I know. Similar to always giving my mom the new Mary Higgins Clark book for Mother’s Day so I can read it before I give it to her. Mybad.

I TOLD you I was a terrible person! 🙄 I did box it all back up so it looks like it’s never been opened. He’ll never know… 😉

Those that read my blog regularly know that I’ve been lusting after a macro lens. Like Kate’s from Chronicles of a Country Girl. It was SO cool to get my hands on one. It’s taking all my will power to actually GIVE it to him. The Photography One is going to LOVE his birthday present though. When he gets it 😉 Well, and I’ll be over at the apartment every other week…so I just might borrow it…you know, occasionally… 😆

Kacey,

I’m bad, too. I give a lot of books as gifts, especially travel books; and I will read them before wrapping them. You’re not bad; you’re just human (and curious!)!

annbb/TSannie July 7, 2008 at 7:53 am

Nope – what they don’t know….BUT if he reads your blog, twubble!

Meg July 7, 2008 at 7:54 am

Of course not, lmbo! I agree with Amy, you are just curious…or maybe you just want to make sure it works like it’s supposed to!

Treasia July 7, 2008 at 9:01 am

It never hurts to check out a gift personally before giving the said gift.

Suzanne July 7, 2008 at 9:22 am

Wow, I want a macro lens now. Did you get me one, too? I’ll let you use it first.

Melissa Marsh July 7, 2008 at 10:09 am

Kacey, you crack me up!

Shimmy Mom July 7, 2008 at 10:47 am

LOL what a good mom you are! I’m with ya, I covet those that have macro lenses. I’d have played with it too. But if he ends up getting it, you’re a better woman than I am!

Tori Lennox July 7, 2008 at 11:10 am

You’re not a bad mommy. You had to make sure it worked, right?

mary July 7, 2008 at 11:13 am

Wow, you are one terrific mom — it would KILL me to give up that baby! Love the pic with your reflection in the chrome…
xoxo,
Mary

You are the best mom ever. Please adopt me.

I, too, lust after a macro lens….

BearNaked July 7, 2008 at 1:36 pm

You’re not bad , just practical.
Imagine how disappointed you both would be if after he opened the gift,; something was wrong.
Oh and I love the “Self Portrait in Subaru .”

What, you have to see if it works properly, right??

Jenna July 7, 2008 at 2:29 pm

Nice photos — and hey, you had to make sure it worked : D

iPost July 7, 2008 at 8:07 pm

You, my friend, are indeed bad. Not because you took a test run but because you posted the damn results and now I want one. 😕

That lens rocks, girl! Hey! My b-day is coming up in Sept. Think you’d like to buy another for a dear, close, bloggy friend? Hmmmm????

dlyn July 7, 2008 at 9:52 pm

I think it is downright rude to give a gift before checking out that it works properly. I wonder if it would work in New York State? Maybe you better send it to me so I can make sure.

Oliag November 21, 2008 at 10:17 am

Hee Hee! I think it’s a great thing you did! I tend to buy things for my husband that I crave!…but I am thinking maybe you should have just bought one for yourself!

Amber(Homeschool Diva) November 21, 2008 at 11:01 am

I think that is AWESOME! You used it well for sure. Great shots.

Gayle November 21, 2008 at 11:41 am

It’s not wrong at all. It was the responsible thing to do!

spread your wings November 21, 2008 at 1:44 pm

haha i’ve done that before – when i gave my daughter her new Nikon d40x . gotta make sure it works correctly – right? Looks like its working proper with your skills.
