Breakfast of Champions

by Kay~Kacey on 10/22/2008

You know how I get in a rut and do the same thing. Over and over. Like my walk along the very same route each time?

Well, I’m a bit obsessive about my breakfast too.

daily breakfast

This is my daily breakfast. Yes, almost every. single. day. My Trader Joe’s Organic Granola. In a red bowl. No other bowl will do. 🙄 I add a dash of cinnamon, and a sprinkle of ground flax seed to it. Then I have it with Stoney Field Farms low fat organic yogurt. Almost always raspberry, but I’ve been known to really shake things up and do peach or strawberry on occasion! 😯

No milk on the cereal though. Milk on cereal is just wrong. So wrong.

So what do you eat for breakfast? I bet it varies just a TAD more than my breakfast…

Sadly, no. Porridge, with organic raisins on top. Every day.

I don’t think you guys call it porridge though, do you? Rolled oats… hmm maybe you call it hot cereal? Beats me. Boring anyway. But, if I don’t have a routine, I suck at eating breakfast. And better a boringly predictable breakfast than no breakfast at all…

Egg whites here. But no milk on your cereal? Must. Have. Milk. :coffee2:

Blogarita October 22, 2008 at 6:35 am

Just coffee or tea. :coffee2:

I have a hard time stomaching solid food before 10:00 or so; by then it’s easier to just wait for lunch.

That looks good! I love oatmeal on cold mornings….

Amy October 22, 2008 at 6:58 am

I vary my bowls, but breakfast is always old fashioned oats with raisins and a dab of Smart Heart (or is it Smart Start?) margarine. Always. No variations.

Are we boring?

I have something different almost every day. Yesterday I had whole wheat eggo waffles and the day before a breakfast bar with some coffee. Your breakfast, however, looks divine!!

Stoneyfield Yogurt rocks! I love the vanilla with my granola. And lately I have been making my granola, which I had never done but is easy and delicious. Like you, I get in a major breakfast rut, but I love it.

A Smart Ones entree – the kind may vary but not the brand.

One day, oatmeal. Boiled eggs, the next. Things get monotonous and I HAVE to change up. Or else, I head to Hardee’s or McDonalds. That is bad, bad, bad.
Kinda like cereal with no milk. Gotsa have milk! To each his own, right?

Sara October 22, 2008 at 8:01 am

Peanut butter and bananas on toast. If I’m feeling very creative I have hard boiled eggs.

I always start my day with a Latte (got my own ‘spresso machine and everything) and then I finally get around to breakfast about 10, and will have cereal or leftover dinner. Whatever’s handy.

A triple espresso with soy, Toasted cranberry/walnut bread and sliced apple with a smear of St. Andre cheese is my Sunday favorite. Daily, fruit sprinkled with organic granola and soy yogurt. Totally agree with the no milk deal, save my dairy moments for a bit of cheese and occasional ice cream! Breakfast is a wonderful way to start the day, I dont know how the non-breakfast group gets through the morning!

coffee…yogurt…orange juice…now I feel as though I’m bad and need to eat better…
egg whites? never! me and eggs are enemies.

Karin October 22, 2008 at 1:29 pm

Eggs-In-A-Hole — recipe courtesy of The Pioneer Woman 🙂 Oh – and coffe with some kind of flavored creamer. Actually my loving hubby makes this for me as I am getting ready for work.

I agree – I don’t know HOW people who don’t eat breakfast manage – I am SICK by 8:30 am if I haven’t eaten . . .

Kacey October 22, 2008 at 1:58 pm

I’m not an early morning breakfast eater either. If I had my way, I’d have breakfast around 10am. Of course, that isn’t always practical what with real life and everything.

COFFEE, bran flakes, raspberries, banana, milk and more COFFEE, along with news on TV and the morning newspaper. My absolute favorite breakfast, even over restaurant breakfasts. Maybe the reason I like it so much is that I’m retired now, and can eat it a.t. m.y l.e.i.s.u.r.e — a luxury I don’t think I’ll ever get over appreciating.

I have the same thing every day: Nonfat yogurt with some kind of fruit, a splash of vanilla and little bit of splenda. And 27 cups of coffee.
