My New Favorite Beer-Yuengling

by Kay~Kacey on 9/14/2010

I have to thank our oldest son for introducing us to this beer!

Oldest brewery in America per their label and website. They must be marketing it hard in the lower east coast, because my son discovered it in Hilton Head, and we’re seeing it everywhere here in St. Augustine. Wonder if it’s made it to St. Louis, home of the Anheuser-Busch products? Guess I’ll have to check it out when we get home.

Only thing I don’t like about Yuengling Beer? It’s hard to spell…

But that said, we’re hitting New Orleans on our way home and I’m stocking up on Abita Beer. I’m just sayin’.

I’ve got my toes in the water…

a beer (or two) in my hand… (well, I did have them…quite a few of them. See last photo…)

Yep, it’s heck going on vacation, I tell ‘ya.

st-augustine-beach-8490We’re having to fight our way through the THRONGS of people on the beach…

Sigh. We’re on um, I think it’s called South Ponte Vedra beach…well, about 6 miles out of St. Augustine. Nice. Deserted. Lovely.

Though, we enjoyed our first night so much? I had to declare today an alcohol free day… :hide:

My poor MacBook is fighting me every step of the way when I try to process photos on it. I still love the old Mac, but it is on its last leg. I’ll try to keep checking in this week, but you can also follow our shenanigans on Facebook. (gotta love an iphone camera and the Facebook app!)

It’s a tough life, but someone has to do it!

Spunky Survivors

by Kay~Kacey on 9/10/2010

Hey!! Look what I found. No, not the flower…this post. I wrote it over a month ago and saved as a draft instead of posting it… :mad2:

So…here it is!

Remember when I talked about the spunky survivors I painstakingly moved from a discarded planter. The portulaca was from TWO summers ago. Have no idea why it decided to come up again THIS summer. Well…

Pretty right? Well…right after I took this photo. That darn woodchuck found our upper garden and cleaned it out of petunias and portulaca. :mad2: So. Not. Amused. Well, at least I got this one photo of one bloom. Sigh. I haven’t SEEN the silly woodchuck in a few days..but I know he’s still around. Sigh.
