Life in Focus-Quiet Moments of Winter

by Kay~Kacey on 2/20/2010

Winter came down to our home one night
Quietly pirouetting in on silvery-toed slippers of snow,
And we, we were children once again.

~Bill Morgan, Jr.

This sweet little deer was in my backyard looking for food. They are cute in the winter…not so much in the spring when they come up and eat all my tulips!! Have a great weekend my friends!

Feed the Birds

tuppence a bag…(Name that song. Oh, never mind, I’ll tell you. It’s Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins. It’s a sad fact of life that I know all the words to it too…)

Anyway…I woke up to this bird giving me the eye. Seems they were out of bird seed.

SuperGuy to the rescue!

Okay, so I had to ask him nicely to please go out and feed the poor birdies. The bird feeder is too high up for me to fill it without a ladder. (okay, and it was COLD!)

Okay, so really I had to nag him ask him for 2 days.

Soon the branches were filled with my friends.

Everyone was happy and sated. (I love the word sated…)

As a bonus I got a pointing photo out of it… 🙄

The Continuing Saga of the Flower Pot

by Kay~Kacey on 2/17/2010

For my long time blog readers, yet another chapter in the saga of the Flower Pot. Seriously, when will this flower pot finally, finally give up the ghost?

It’s a persistent little sucker, isn’t it? When will it finally collapse in a pile of clay??

You might remember this famous little pot:

Chapter One

Chapter Two (this chapter we had a poll where we voted on whether SuperGuy should even bother to put a plant in the pot. The winning answer was He should always do what I say and not argue. Gotta agree with the outcome of that poll!)

Chapter Three He retaliated by immediately planted some flowers in it.

Chapter Four The one in which a few more pieces crack off.

Who knows how long this poor, cracked flower pot will last. Stay tuned for the next chapter this spring! Any bets on whether it survives the winter?
