Creative Decorating

SuperGuy is ever so helpful with the decorating of The Love Nest. Ever so…

What do you think he came up with next in his creative decorating spree??

scoop way decorating

Yes, it’s decorating with Scoop Away, session two. First the ultimate bathroom wastebasket ala Scoop Away. :wallbash: Now, what does SuperGuy think of???

creative TV stand

The ultimate TV stand:mad2: I’m thinking that SuperGuy and I are not exactly on the same wave length with this whole decorating The Love Nest thing…

I think antiquing for a TV stand is next on the list… How about the males in your lives? Do they come up with any whopper decorating ideas? Good thing I’m so crazy about the man…

(if you missed the announcement this weekend, you have until Wednesday to enter this month’s Photo of the Month contest.)

Sleep Number Bed Setup

Okay, so remember when I was asking about a sleep number bed? Well, we ordered one on sale and it finally arrived. We had to schlep 5-6 boxes up 3 flights of stairs. So begins the saga of the sleep number bed setup.

So the boxes are placed one room since they take up so much space, and we set it up in the bedroom.

pieces of sleep number bed

There are a lot of pieces. Not to be deterred, we looked for directions. Okay, males don’t need no stinkin’ directions…SuperGuy starts in to it. I finally find the directions for the set up of the foundation printed on the outside of the box. Told SuperGuy he had started out wrong, and off we started to put the bed together. SuperGuy brought of over lots of tools, of course. Guys need tools for every project.

putting together the frame

You can put the sleep number bed on a foundation that you already have…but we didn’t have one in The Love Nest. So they charge you for this snap together foundation. They charge for for these molded plastic legs. As an aside, see SuperGuy in his flannel jammie pants? Yes, well, he got over here with no jeans. Only dress clothes and jammie pants. I foresee a quick shopping trip in our future. Well, at least it’s not the like time he forgot dress shirts and ties… But I digress…

putting on the legs

Oh, and see SuperGuys hands in this pictures?? They are the only tools we needed to put the entire bed together. As another aside, see how SuperGuy still has his tan from the cruise?? Not me…

sleep number foundation

The sleep number bed foundation all set up. Well, there are flat panels that “snap together” and fit on top of that. I didn’t get a photo of that. Too busy messing with them to get them to fit on correctly and, you know, actually SNAP together. The directions for the whole process weren’t that great. They said stuff like “find the pieces marked end pieces”…of which there were none…all the supports were exactly the same. But we figured it out.

set up sleep number bed

A quilted cover goes over the frame so it looks like a “real” foundation. Then you put the “mattress” on top of the foundation. You unzip the top of it and put in foam supports on the sides and two air chambers inside the “mattress”. After arguing on which is the left side, and which is the right side…(I finally have to point out the prominent L and R to SuperGuy  ) we plug in the pump and fill the air chambers. Then you add the foam liner and zip the mattress cover back on. (At this point, in the bottom of the box we found an insert that said “use these directions for hooking up the pump, not the ones in the manual  right….)

sleep number bed

You finally have this! A sleep number bed. (tools added to picture to make SuperGuy feel better…even though they weren’t used. The only tool used was SuperGuy  ) Though, seriously, I could so have put this together by myself if I had too. Not very difficult.

finished bed

Then we made it up and here it is. Minus a headboard, bedskirt, bedtables and lamps… Well, SuperGuy will make the headboard, he makes a great homemade headboard. We’re going antiquing this weekend for bedtables…or something to use as bedtables. We definately need lamps too. I will, of course, take a photo after all that is finished.

Anyway, at this point in the set up process we promptly poured two glasses of wine, got out some cheese and relaxed. Most important step of the whole process. I’ll let you know how it feels after a few nights’ sleep on it.
