I’m Pretty Much Over It

Winter, that is.

I’m tired of looking out at this.

I’m even tired of trying to get the perfect snowflake macro shot. (Haven’t gotten a good one yet.)

Tired of draping a shawl over me to pull up and keep my camera dry. Tired of the gray. Tired of the cold. (SuperGuy sneakily took these two shots)

I want to be sitting down there in our courtyard, sipping a martini with SuperGuy and discussing our days. Sigh. Have I mentioned a time or a million that I’m not a winter person?

I seem to be spending an inordinate amount of time just sitting at my office window, staring into the woods. Thinking. Planning. Dreaming. Winter is like that for me. So I sit and dream. I let memories drift up from my subconscious–the good ones and the bad. I allow myself some idle downtime in winter…without regret or guilt. Contemplation is my secret pleasure in winter.
