Yes, it’s time for the photo of the month reminder. August’s photo of the month theme is “Best Caption for a Photo.” Send me a link to your photo along with a caption for it. Use the Contact Me button up on me menu bar to send me the link, or leave the link in a comment here on this post. All entries must be sent by August 31. I’ll post the photos and the captions at the beginning of September. The only “retouching” I’ll do is if I have to size your photo to fit my blog.
Remember when I posted this photo and asked for captions for it?? I wanted to share the captions you guys suggested, because I know not many people come back and read more comments after they’ve commented themselves. I swear, you guys are SO clever!

Okay, what’s your favorite caption of all those listed?
I’m having a really hard time with my entry this month. I’m terrible about coming up with clever captions for my photos!! Looking forward to seeing the submissions for this month’s contest!

Remember when I said I wanted more babies?? Well, I got some turkey babies. BUT WAIT!!
Look!!!
I finally saw some BABY DEER!!!
Aren’t they cute??
This little one saw me taking her picture.
Then Mama Deer saw me and they were gone…
So, as I think I said before, I live in a big city. In the suburbs. But I back up to a county park. So I have all this great wildlife right out my window. But some of the townships around us are having problems with the menacing deer. The deer are eating up home owner’s flowers. 🙄 Yes, I have that here, but it’s the price I pay for living close to the woods. Whatever. So one of the townships wants to allow HUNTING. In. The. Suburbs. Yes, that sounds like a great suggestion, doesn’t it?? Gun hunting. Bullets. Right.
Another suggestion is catch and release, but I understand the survival rate on that is terrible. Another suggestion is bow hunting. I don’t know the answer, because I do know the deer population has really grown and there are a lot of car accidents now with deer bounding across roads and getting hit. Damage to people, deer, and car. Wounded animals wondering around. Okay, I realize there is a problem…but can’t anyone come up with a sensible solution?? Well, more sensible than GUNS in the SUBURBS?

Even though SuperGuy’s pepper in the bird food plan chased away the Indigo Buntings (I can just hear him say…”Let it DIE, woman. I’m sorry!” I’m thinking silver jewelry would make a good apology, don’t you think?? )
Anyway…
… I do have a bounty of birds out my window.
I have bright male cardinals.
Gold finches.
Various woodpeckers.
A purple finch that doesn’t like his picture taken…he’s shy, don’t you know.
Sigh. Sometimes we can’t all get along. A few scuffles here and there. Almost like having all the boys back home… 😉
