Oh, yes, a storm came through–well, high winds, but no rain. We’ve hardly gotten any rain this summer. But look what the winds did at The Love Nest. Didn’t the wind know we’re getting ready to sell??
Sigh. Well, I was afraid it was going to fall on someone…so SuperGuy said he’d cut it down. You remember what happened last time he tried to cut down a tree, right? Or maybe this one? Or this?
So, you can see why I was a little bit guy shy of letting him loose with a chainsaw again…
His look of surprise when he’s not sure if the branch is going to fall right on top of him…
He got out of the way just in time… 😯
Then all there was left to do was cut the whole thing up into logs and pile it near the lot line…not that we have a woodburning fireplace to actually use the logs, mind you. :wallbash:
I’m hoping we don’t have any more trees that need to be cut down at our new place…
Due to a hard drive crash on my new iMac…grrrr… I’ve been busy making sure everything I have is backed up. Luckily I did have a time machine backup of the iMac, so it just took time to get things all set up again.
I’m in Columbia this week on my old iMac and I’m going through making sure everything is also backed up over here. In the process I got lost going through old photos on this Mac.
Then I got lost clicking through the related blog posts links on my blog.
Then I got lost in the memories the posts bring back.
I might as well have been a male trying to do chores…you know how side tracked they get when they do chores…
I’d forgotten all about some of these photos. So fun to look back through them. So, of course I decided to do up a blog post using some old photos…
Anyway, now, I promise, as soon as I hit enter to post this blog post–I really am going to make sure that everything is backed up on this computer too. I get a bit lazy over here on the backup process. Okay, I’m really going to back this whole computer up. Right now. I promise…
Hey, I need another cup of coffee…

The girls will play. While the boys were bachelor partying in Vegas (they survived…barely…), Lauren’s aunt threw a lovely bridal shower at Seven Gables Inn. It was a charming place for a shower with a cute courtyard where we gathered for yummy drinks before the shower.
Lauren looked darling, as always. We’re so glad to have another female in the family!!
Her aunt left no detail to chance. The flowers on the tables were from the florist who is doing their wedding flowers. They were so pretty!
We had little sachets with our names for place cards at the tables. So cute!
My sister, of course, would not let me get a photo of her…but we expect that now, don’t we??
Caught my mom when she wasn’t looking.
The food was so yummy and set up so cute. They used glass blocks and sheets of glass on the serving tables. Very cute. Must steal that idea for my next party…
More photos on Facebook.
We’re getting excited about the wedding now!! October 6th! Not long now!!
